Selected as AAG GISSG Finalist

I was informed that my abstract submitted to the AAG Annual Meeting GIS Specialty Group Student Paper Competition has been selected as one of five finalists.
I get $500 for travel up front to San Francisco for the AAG Comference, and the opportunity to present and possibly win the whole shebang for another $500.
Hmm, rejected from GIScience 2006 and then up for best student paper at AAG. Ponderous.
