Pesticide Exposure Research Overview

Our research attempts to determine the pesticide levels that individuals were exposed to from commercial farming.

So what, this has already been done many times? Good point. But existing research....

  • Is too specific

    • Most approaches focus on a single data source
    • Most approaches use a single resolution of data, subject, and time
  • Does not scale

Individual historical ambient exposure estimates require:

    • Thousands of subjects
    • Thousands of chemicals
    • Variable catchment area shapes and sizes
  • Is not flexible

    • New data layers need to be incorporated as the become available
    • New environmental models need to be incorporated as they are developed

If you are interested in our approach to solving some of these problems, please keep reading.
